At WELLNESS HQ we treat and manage a broad range of conditions, including common health issues that are preventable and treatable. Some of the conditions we treat include:

Diabetes - Exercise training improves glycaemic control, body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, cardiovascular risk, physical functioning and well-being in patients with T2DM or pre-diabetes.

Arthritis – exercise reduces pain, maintains muscle strength around affected joints, reduces joint stiffness, prevents functional decline, and improves mental health and quality of life

Osteoporosis – exercise may reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures by enhancing the peak bone mass achieved during growth and development, by slowing the rate of bone loss with aging, and/or by reducing the risk of falls via benefits on muscle strength and balance.

High Blood Pressure - on a population average, the reduction in SBP and DBP for patients with hypertension who undertake habitual aerobic exercise is approximately 7/6mmHg. This decrease is associated with a reduction in all-cause mortality, death due to stroke and death due to coronary heart disease by 7%, 14% and 9%, respectively.

Falls Risk – exercise can improve muscular strength, balance, balance confidence, and walking speed, as well as psychological factors such as mental ability and mood. Exercise interventions can reduce the risk of falls up to 34%.

 

Clients may be eligible for Medicare, Workcover, Veterans Affairs and Health Insurance rebates for Exercise Physiology services.
